Go Local By Banking At Tioga State Bank

As many of the nation’s consumers consider switching banks, the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and Tioga State Bank are reminding them that now is the perfect time to join the “go local” movement. By banking with Tioga State Bank, one of the area’s only independent community banks, consumers will realize the litany of benefits that come with banking with a community bank. Some of those benefits include a relationship-based banking experience, superior customer service and the pride that comes with reinvesting in one’s community.

“Tioga State Bank is not only invested in our community, but also in our customers,” said Robert M. Fisher, President & CEO of Tioga State Bank.  “Our doors are open, and we welcome people to go local and see the community banking difference for themselves.”

Community banks, like Tioga State Bank, improve America’s communities by funding nearly 60 percent of all small businesses under $1 million and by using local dollars to help families purchase homes, buy a car, finance college and build financial security. By driving local economies and creating local jobs, community banks are an integral part of our financial system and play a key role in our nation’s economic recovery.

“By going local and banking locally with your community bank, consumers can make a real difference in the lives of their neighbors and the future of their community,” said Sal Marranca, ICBA chairman. “They’ll be making a hometown investment they can be proud of. After all, the money they deposit in their community bank will be invested in ways that drive their local economy, such as in the form of loans to local residents who want to buy a home or to small business owners who are looking to open shop on Main Street.”

Tioga State Bank Features New Accounts Receivable Product

SPENCER, NEW YORK – Tioga State Bank is excited to announce that they have just launched a new accounts receivable product called Business Manager. Now qualifying business customers can benefit by having a more predictable cash flow, allowing them to increase inventory to support additional sales volume, take advantage of prompt payment discounts offered by suppliers, invest in additional productive assets, and maintain a more liquid working capital position.  In addition, the receivable management component of Business Manager enables businesses to improve the quality and timeliness of management information, free up management time to pursue additional sales opportunities, improve collections, and often reduce bad debt.

Business Manager operates through a licensed web based software product which connects the bank to the business.  Receivables are purchased from the business at a discount and typically funded either the same or next business day.  Payments are directed to a lockbox titled to the business and controlled by the bank.   Detailed management reports, such as Aged Receivables, Customer Balances, and Credit Applications, provide the business customer with all the critical information they need to manage this account.

“Business Manager is an innovative accounts receivable product” said Patty Merrell, Commercial Services Officer at Tioga State Bank. “By using Business Manager, a business can convert frozen assets into cash to support growth and ease uncertainty about daily cash fluctuations. They can also manage cash rather than debt and gain additional funds with greater risk control.”

The benefits of Business Manager include improving cash flow, having the ability to offer more attractive financing options to customers, improving collections, and saving time and money.  If a business is interested in more information on Business Manager, call the Tioga State Bank Customer Service Center at 1-888-303-4TSB (4872).
