Going back to Jeff Kies’ Grandpa Kies, the Kies family has been doing business in Tioga County since 1930. Jeff’s relationship with Tioga State Bank began when he was a teenager some 50 years ago. He started his car business on the very site where the bank’s current office sits at Fifth Avenue, Owego. He moved Jeff Kies Auto Sales to Apalachin, midway between Tioga County and Broome County, 30 years ago. The Kies family business has been going strong since.

About 15 years ago, the business started doing its banking with Tioga State Bank. Jeff and his two sons like the small-town USA style of doing business. For Jeff (with his 40 years of business experience), Chad (who has worked at the dealership since graduating college in 2009), and Adam (who also grew up in the business), it’s a style of doing business that works for their car-buying customers.
