Loan Processing Representative

Essential Functions / Major Duties

Responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the loan operations function.  Meets strict deadlines while preparing all consumer loan documentation.  Assists Bank staff with all loan operations related questions.

  • Scans loan files to Synergy; index and review scanned files.
  • Prepares all re-disclosure loan estimates.
  • Ensures compliance by processing new installment loans and notes within in strict deadline requirements.
  • Assists Loan Underwriters with preparations for closings, including contacting attorneys and insurance companies as necessary.
  • Prepares preliminary commitment and closing documents via Onboard loans and MortgageBot.
  • Puts through debit/credit entries and closes files.
  • Assists with loan application processing including ordering flood certifications, credit bureau reports and GEO coding.
  • Prepares a variety of letters and forms including adverse action letters for declined loans, insurance disclosure and acknowledgment forms, verification of deposit, verification of employment forms, attorney referrals, title insurance requests and tax and title searches.
  • Inputs system changes for all mortgage modifications.
  • Compiles various reports including ARM index update, HMDA review, ARM HELOC disclosures.
  • Reviews new loan set-ups.
  • Assembles mortgage files when received in Loan Operations.
    • Reviews files for missing docs, correct rate, program information & supporting documentation.

Customer Service Representative (Teller) - Multiple Locations

Essential Functions / Major Duties

Services customers through various teller transactions.  Provides customer service to retain and grow customer relationships.  Cross-sells products and services and identifies business opportunities for referrals to appropriate personnel.

  • Services customers through various teller transactions including, cashing checks, processing deposits and accepting various payments.
  • Sells treasurers’ checks, money orders, etc.
  • Provides customer service to retain and grow customer relationships by acknowledging and greeting customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Responds to and follows through on customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identifies customer products and service needs to enhance customer relationships while achieving the Bank’s financial goals by actively participating in all sales promotions.
  • Identifies business opportunities and refers customers to appropriate personnel including Tioga State Investment Services , Commercial Loans, Mortgage Originators and Consumer Loans
  • Maintains an accurate cash drawer in accordance with balancing and cash handling standards.
  • Produces accurate work documentation impacting other internal departments as well as external customers.
  • Balances the vault and ATM machine(s).

Investment Services Representative

Responsible for selling and administering a broad range of investment and insurance services, i.e., investment products, life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, etc.  Achieves customer service and sales goals as established in the bank’s annual operating plan.  Complies with operating policies and procedures established for the investment services function.

  • Sells and administers a broad range of investment services, e.g., investment products, annuities, mutual funds, etc..
  • Meets with customers, prospects, and referrals directly profiling their financial objectives and selling the appropriate products to meet those objectives.
  • Executes trades for customers.
  • Sells life and other insurance products to customers.
  • Solicits new business from present and prospective customers; maintains ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities.
  • Identifies business opportunities and refers customers to appropriate personnel.
  • Handles customer inquiries, executes account changes and maintains compliance-required databases.
  • Executes other account changes (beneficiaries, payouts, asset allocations, etc.) for clients.
  • Abides by all requirements of the FINRA, LPL, NYS Department of Insurance and other regulatory bodies. Abides by all requirements contained in the Interagency Statement.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of investment products and services, i.e., investment products, annuities, mutual funds, life insurance, etc., in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs.
  • Participates in investment product training programs for bank personnel to assist in providing investment services that meet customers’ needs.
  • Informs bank personnel of any changes in investment products and services.
  • Maintains records of investment programs to ensure complete and proper documentation of such programs.
  • Supports community offices in promoting investment products, e.g., special promotions, marketing programs, seminars and business development calls.
  • Responsible for completing and processing account paperwork.

Loan Servicing Representative

Responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the loan operations function including servicing loan accounts, accepting payments, insurances, escrow accounts to paying off loans and returning loan documents including mortgage discharges to customers.  Assists Bank staff with all loan operations related questions.  Provides administrative support and assists underwriters with daily projects and with responding to questions from the offices/customers.

  • Responds to all servicing requests on booked loans including the posting of payments and answering loan questions related to the core system.
  • Reconciles various life and disability insurances and processes payments to vendor.
  • Pays insurance premiums and property taxes
  • Inputs all loan changes and/or makes corrections on the core system.
    • Including loan maintenance for payment reversals, AFT, ACH
  • Reviews for accuracy and prepares for mailing various loan-related notices and statements. (e.g. billing notices and past due notices.)
  • Handles all revolving credit processes including set-up, balancing, posting and file maintenance.
  • Reviews all loans to ensure compliance with customer identification program (CIP).
  • Prepares various internal forms related to the abatement and modification of loans.
  • Performs monthly escrow analysis
  • Prepares & records mortgage and lien discharges
  • Compiles information and prepares various loan reports as directed.
  • Performs various administrative duties such as faxing, filing, making copies as needed.

Mortgage Loan Originator

Broome County, NY

Essential Functions / Major Duties

Responsible for providing mortgage loan guidance and services to current and potential bank customers.  Will work with community offices and Office Managers to promote the entire line of bank services to meet the overall financial needs of current and prospective bank customers.

  • Interviews customers to gather information pertaining to their unique financial situations and needs. Advises and directs customers to appropriate loan program.  Prequalifies potential applicants.
  • Guides the entire application process, assisting customers from application to closing and troubleshooting any transaction issues. Educates customers on the home buying process and managing their mortgage.
  • Promotes the entire line of bank products and services, working with individual offices to service the overall needs of customers.
  • Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary.
  • Participates in group sales calls with other bank staff, including Community Office Managers, to improve the opportunity to gain new business from existing and prospective customers.
  • Provides sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of customer service and sales performance reports

 

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years related experience normally required.
  • An Associates degree in a related field of study normally required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Specialized mortgage training normally required.
