Employee Spotlight - Joanne Jones

Meet Joanne Jones, the newest addition to Tioga State Bank’s Business Banking team. Joanne joins Team TSB with over 25 years of commercial lending experience. Growing up with her father being a small business owner in the Binghamton area, she knows the meaning of hard work and what it takes for a small business to succeed in our community. Joanne’s local market knowledge and experience, go hand-in-hand with Tioga State Bank’s commitment to serving the needs of small businesses in our community.

In her role, as Commercial Services Officer, Joanne helps small businesses find banking solutions that meet their specific and individual needs. She also serves on the board for Fairview Recovery Services and is a part of the City of  Binghamton Business Plan Competition Judging Panel. Joanne will be located at the Tioga State Bank Upper Front Street Office. What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy cooking and entertaining friends and family. I also like to play golf.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies include gardening and restoring antique furniture.

What is something people may not know about you?

I live in Binghamton with my husband, Frank, and our dog, Stanley.

What do you like the most about being a commercial lender?

Having been a commercial lender for many years in this community, the most rewarding aspect of this career is developing relationships with small business owners and seeing them succeed.

What inspired you to pursue a career in business banking / commercial lending?

My father was a small business owner in the Binghamton area.  Growing up, family dinner was a time when we all gathered and talked about our days.  My father would often talk about his banker at Binghamton Savings Bank and how that person helped him secure financing to take on large projects.  At a young age, I realized that I wanted to help small business owners.
