Kim Niznik
Treasury Management Specialist
21½ years ago, Kim Niznik started at Tioga State Bank as a Customer Service Representative floater. Other than stops in Deposit Operations and Finance, Kim’s career has mostly been in the retail side of banking. She was one of the first reps when the Customer Service Center in Van Etten was created.
Recently, she took on a brand new position at TSB, as the Treasury Management Specialist. Her responsibilities include support and sales of all Treasury-related products and services. In regards to her new role, Kim said, “It is very exciting! I am very honored to be on the ground floor, knowing that I get to help build and grow this position.”
Kim is passionate about serving the needs of her customers and her community. “Last year, I saw that there was a need for Election Inspectors in my county. So I signed up, got certified, and I am now an Election Inspector for Tioga County.”
Q&A with Kim Niznik
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include crocheting, reading, hunting, going for walks, and Zumba. My absolute favorite hobby is card making.
What 3 words describe your personality?
Hmmm… 3 words that describe my personality would probably be witty, empathetic, and resourceful.
Tell us your favorite local business and why?
Other than Tioga State Bank (haha), my favorite local businesses all have to do with food. I can’t just pick one, because each of the following local restaurants all have a food item that I just love: Becky’s Diner, MJ’s, Mario’s, Railhouse, Owego Kitchen.
What do you like the most about your job?
The thing I like most about my job is helping customers. Whether it is an external or internal customer, knowing that I was able to help someone makes me feel good.
What do you like the most about working for Tioga State Bank?
What I like most about working at TSB is that you are not just a number; we are all part of a big family. How many folks can call their President and CEO and discuss your favorite chefs on Top Chef; or have him call you with a book recommendation?
What inspired you to pursue a career in banking?
I was working as a secretary for a body shop, and one of the technicians told me that I needed to get out of there. He told me that his wife worked as a trainer at Tioga State Bank and that they were hiring tellers, and that he would put in a good word for me. So I had my interview, got the job, and here we are 21 ½ years later!!
